GOTHAM AUDIO : IMPORTANT DATES AND NEWS 2019

ALL GOOD THINGS MUST …..

Sadly history often repeats itself. The original US Gotham company distributed Neumann products for over 30 years but suddenly in 1991, the foundation of their business was rocked when Sennheiser acquired Neumann and immediately ended Gotham’s distribution of Neumann products.

Just as suddenly, in November 2018, Gotham AG stopped shipping cable to Gotham Audio LLC, ending a relationship between Lewis Frisch and Gotham that dated back to January 1985. At the end of February 2019 Gotham AG removed Gotham LLC from their list of dealers and distributors, announcing on their website that US and Canadian customers should order directly from them in Switzerland.
As of May15, 2019 they still list no dealers for the USA and Canada.

Lewis Frisch continues to do business as Gotham Audio Sales Co. and Gotham Audio (USA.) We are continuing to supply GAC and Lincoln Heritage Series Cable Assemblies, bulk cable products from his remaining stock of Gotham cable and new cable from Clark Wire and Cable.

Please call Lewis Frisch at (610) 746-9342 or email for information, samples and pricing. Gotham Audio(USA) pricing was established April 1, 2019. It reflects a 5% price increase on bulk cables, as referenced to the Gotham LLC pricing of February 2018.

2019 VACATION DATES:

Gotham Audio (USA) will be closed OCTOBER 3 through OCTOBER 11, 2019. ALSO DECEMBER 30, 2019 through JANUARY 5, 2020.

**************

We anticipate moving to a new location in the Fall of 2019. We plan on moving into space provided by The Sound Parcel, an innovative audio company owned by my son-in-law, David Lavigna.

Like Gotham Audio LLC, The Sound Parcel began as a business run out of the owner’s home attic and basement. His business has experienced rapid growth over the past three years and now requires a much larger commercial space for both on-line and brick and mortar sales.

Most of you are aware that Gotham Audio began as a home based operation occupying my attic, basement and garage along with a small rented warehouse. That location at 141 E. Center Street in Nazareth served us well from 2004-2016. Gotham sales strengthened once the economic recovery kicked in in 2012-2014 and by mid-2016 we were ready for the next step, leasing dedicated commercial space at 135 Spring Street, Unit C, less than a mile from our previous location.

Simultaneously, we sold our 110 year old home and moved into an lovely apartment less than a mile away in Nazareth overlooking the waters of Lake Orwig (actually a huge abandoned quarry that is home to nearly a million snow geese every autumn).

Gotham shares space with my other business, Bedford Vintage Hi-Fi. Our office has been is a virtual museum of vintage consumer electronics from the late 1960’s through the early 1980’s. But space for display and demonstration of vintage “silver-era” hi-fi equipment has been severely limited.

During these years from 2016-2019, the THE SOUND PARCEL was located less than a mile away from our office. By 2020, we will be located in the same building. The Sound Parcel will have a retail store and demonstration space at the new location and it will be easier for Bedford Vintage to display and sell vintage
hi-fi equipment in this larger space.

*The Sound Parcel is a stocking dealer for analog recording tape, manufactured by the French company Mulann under the RECORDING THE MASTERS brand name.
Their customers will be able to see and hear these products demonstrated on Bedford Vintage Hi-Fi’s extensive collection of open reel and cassette tape decks.*
